Hello everyone!
We are continuing to make very slow progress on our bottle cap mural

project. We have officially started collecting bottle caps and are getting more and more each day. Friends of ours are helping us out and collecting caps as well, which I greatly appreciate. We are planning to take further steps in the near future and get a collection bin in the cafeteria at the high school and maybe at the other schools in the district as well. This is going to be a very long process, but if we can get help from enough people, the collection portion will be a breeze.

Today, my group and I began discussing the design of the mural. As expected, we seem to be trying to focus around problems associated with wildlife and the environment, but haven't settled on one idea. As we move forward with this project, we still need to find out who we need to talk to in order to get this mural up for people to see. The goal would be to create it in one of the hallways in the school, but we may have to settle for less.
The three questions driving our project's research are:
Who do we need to talk to in order to be able to build this mural?
What impacts does pollution have on the world around us?
How does recycling make a difference in the community?
I plan to focus on these questions not only for the research paper, but for the creation of the whole project as well. After seeing many photos of birds that have been killed from eating bottle caps (one shown to the

right), I am now more determined than ever to make this project a success. This has brought my collection process outside to search for caps that have been carelessly thrown out the windows of cars.
We have big hopes for this project and I really believe that we can accomplish them. Well, until next time, wish us luck!
