A BIT ABOUT ME

My name is Gigi. I am currently a sophomore in high school. While I am very interested in art, cooking, and wildlife, throughout the years, my main focus has always been school – studying, trying to get good grades, etc. Today as I think about my main goal in life, more than my education comes to mind. I now need to look farther into the future than my test 10th period tomorrow. I want to get myself into a good college, have a family of my own, and one day enter the field of medicine, which is where I dream of having a job after I graduate. To succeed, I need to focus on both these goals as well as my education. As Arthur Ashe said, “Success is a journey, not a destination. The doing is often more important than the outcome.” The journey is the key, hence the name of my portfolio. I can’t just look twenty years into the future and decide what I will be doing. I need to work hard to get there and enjoy myself along the way. So, as I continue to progress through high school, I will be adding to this portfolio and updating my blog to share my work and experiences. At the moment, this portfolio is primarily for my Gifted Honors English (GHEnglish) Class. Although, I really hope that as I complete projects in other classes, I will be able to expand this portfolio to include other subjects as well. Throughout the years, I really hope that this portfolio will grow dramatically in size and will become a meaningful collection of my best work. Until then, I will continue to take my journey one step at a time.
